Just as sassy as Loretta Lynn, Kathryn is an amazing singer/songwriter and vocalist who is genuine and passionate about traditional country music.
And she isn’t shy about taking her music in that direction as well.
We came across Kathryn via Reverbnation. We heard right away a young talent that was unashamed to be traditional country. Her influences run deep: Loretta Lynn, Ernest Tubb, George Strait, even Bonnie Raitt, and Linda Ronstadt. Fortunately for us all, Kathryn wears her influences on her sleeve easily. And our musical palettes are better for it. While her roots run deep, she’s undoubtedly Kathryn Legendre; her own woman on her own journey. As her website so eloquently describes, Kathryn is “Singing you back in time and revitalizing country music with pleasant honesty, one beer joint at a time.”
Kathryn’s debut album “Old Soul” goes on sale October 15, 2013 at iTunes and at Bandcamp. Kathryn shared a pre-release copy with us. Don’t pass this one up. It’s a must-have.
